2019 Spring Home Shows: Gamma Phi Circus

2019 marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of Gamma Phi at Illinois State University in 1929 by Clifford "Pop" Horton. The theme for our 90th Anniversary is CELEBRATION! 90 Years of Circus. We'll take an entertaining look at all the decades with music and memories all show long! An exciting and fun show for all ages-you won't want to miss it!

Beginning on February 14, 2019, tickets will be available at the Redbird Arena Ticket Office, or you can download your tickets on your mobile phone, or print them at home to bring to the Arena. Ticket prices listed above do not include a convenience fee for Print-at-Home, Mobile, or In-Person purchase of tickets at Redbird Arena Ticket Office. A $5 fee will apply to tickets purchased for hold at Will Call or for Mailing. Redbird Arena's Ticket Office usual hours are M-F 9-4:30p and on show days (5pm-7pm on Fri, Apr 12; 10:30am-7pm on Sat, Apr 13). Please allow sufficient time to make accommodation arrangements.

* Saturday Matinee Pre-Show Children's Carnival

Before Saturday’s 1 p.m. show, there will be a pre-show children’s carnival that begins at noon with games and activities for all ages. This special event is kid-approved and open to everyone that has a youth ticket to the matinee show. Admission to the carnival is the matinee ticket. The pre-matinee carnival is sponsored by the ISU Student Alumni Council.

Gamma Phi's main performance takes place every April. It is called the "home show," a two-hour live performance featuring more than a dozen acts. Gamma Phi Circus troupe members are involved in all aspects of the shows from costumes and choreography to act development and performance. Additionally, members of Gamma Phi are responsible for promoting home shows through print, electronic and social media and class presentations during show month. Performances take place under the Redbird Arena Big Top.
